Stripe Alerts ("we", "our", or "us") provides a Chrome extension and an iOS app that monitor your Stripe account and send you smart alerts. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and what we never do. It applies to both the Chrome extension and the iOS app; where the two products handle data differently, this is noted below.
Stripe API Key (Chrome extension): Your Stripe API key is stored locally in Chrome's secure storage on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.
Stripe API Key (iOS app): Your Stripe API key is stored on your device and is also transmitted to and stored securely on our backend so that our servers can check your Stripe account on your behalf and deliver alerts even when the app is closed. We recommend using a restricted, read-only Stripe API key.
Push Notification Token (iOS app): When you enable notifications, the iOS app generates a push token from Apple's Push Notification service and stores it on our backend. We use this token solely to deliver alert notifications to your device.
Email Address: When you purchase a Pro license through our website, your email address is collected by Stripe for payment processing and by us to deliver your license key. For purchases made through the Apple App Store, payment and billing are handled by Apple, and we do not receive your email address from Apple.
License Key: Your license key is stored on your device and verified against our server to confirm it is valid.
Subscription Status (iOS app): For Pro subscriptions purchased through the Apple App Store, we use RevenueCat to manage and verify subscription status. A subscription identifier associated with your device is stored on our backend to determine whether Pro features are active.
Usage Data: We track how many checks you perform per day to enforce free-tier limits.
We do not collect, store, or transmit your Stripe customer data, individual customer payment details, or card information. Alert data is derived from event metadata read from Stripe's API and is not used for any purpose other than generating your alerts.
Your Stripe API key is used only to read recent events from your Stripe account in order to generate alerts. Your push token is used only to deliver those alerts. Your email is used only to deliver your license key (for website purchases) and to contact you about your subscription if needed. We do not send marketing emails without your consent.

Data stored on our backend is held in a secured database with restricted access. For the Chrome extension, your Stripe API key remains in Chrome's local storage on your device. For the iOS app, your Stripe API key is transmitted over an encrypted connection and stored securely so monitoring can run while the app is closed.
License and device data is retained for as long as your subscription is active. Upon cancellation, your data is retained for 30 days and then deleted. You may request immediate deletion by contacting us.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us at the email below.
Stripe Alerts is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or through the app or extension.
